MILWAUKEE, WIS. - The Providence College volleyball team dropped its match against the Marquette Golden Eagles on Friday, Oct. 6. The Golden Eagles defeated the Friars three sets to none. With the loss, Providence moves to 13-7 overall and 2-3 in the BIG EAST.
SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
-Marquette took the first set with a score of 25-13.
-Sophomore Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) led the Friars in kills in the first set with 4.
-Freshman Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) added seven assists and five digs in the first set.
SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
-The Golden Eagles took the second set, 25-23.
-Sophomore Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) recorded six kills in the second set.
-Barber recorded 10 assists.
-Alderson and freshman McKenzie Lydon (Stuart, Fla.) both tallied 3 digs.
SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
-Marquette claimed the final set, 25-21.
-Alderson and Root led the Friars in the third set with three kills each.
-Barber again led Providence in both assists and digs, adding nine and four, respectively.
MATCH HIGHS
-Barber recorded a double-double, leading the Friars in both assists (26) and digs (10).
-Root led Providence with nine kills.
