The Providence College men's soccer team fell to BIG EAST rival Xavier, 4-1, on Saturday night at XU Soccer Complex.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Just 1:03 into the contest, the Musketeers got on the board with a goal from Samson Sergi. Cameron Taylor played the ball ahead for Samson, who was able to finish from 18 yards out.
- Samson struck again just over two minutes later for his seventh goal of the season. Matt Vasquenza tapped the ball to Samson's foot which he was able to finish for his second of the night.
- The Friars were able to get one back in the 16th minute when Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) converted from the penalty spot. It was his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
- In the 19th minute, Xavier's Vasquenza notched a goal of his own. A Providence foul resulted in the goal, which was his third of the season.
- With about five minutes remaining in the first half, Samuel Buzzas tapped a goal home from the right side of the net. The unassisted goal was his first of the season.
- The Friars outshot the Musketeers 19-6 in the game. Shots on goal were 7-4 and all four of those Xavier shots found the back of the net.
- Providence held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
