PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 26.
Lunny helped the Friars capture the Nutmeg Classic Championship and improve to 12-2-0 over the weekend. She scored two third-period goals to help Providence complete a 2-1 comeback effort against Quinnipiac. Lunny's two goals marked the sophomore's first multi-goal game of her career. She has one other multi-point game, which came earlier this season against Bemidji State (Oct. 5). Lunny has already doubled her point production from last season, as she has three goals and three assists for six points.
