Multi-Point Friars
Through just one game, Providence already has five players with multiple points. Greg Printz (five) and Jack Dugan (four) lead the way. Tyce Thompson has three, while freshmen Parker Ford and Patrick Moynihan each have two. Printz is the only Friar with multiple goals, as he registered four on opening night.

Printz's four-goal game against Maine marked the first four-goal game for a Friar since Devin Rask did it on 11/3/02 against Princeton. Printz, who scored 11 goals last season, is currently on pace for a 136-goal season.

Dugan Picks Up Where He Left Off
Jack Dugan had an impressive opening night, notching four points on a goal and three assists. It marked the sophomore's 12th career multi-point game and his first four-point performance.

Tyce Thompson posted his third career three-point game against Maine. He scored a goal and added two assists for the Friars.

Three Friars Get First Points
Parker Ford, Patrick Moynihan and Max Crozier each recorded their first collegiate point in their first career game. Ford and Moynihan had two assists apiece, while Crozier tallied one.

Lackey Shines in Debut
Graduate transfer Michael Lackey stopped all 29 shots he faced to earn his second career collegiate shutout. It was the first shutout win for Providence in a season opener since 2000.

Friar Newcomers
Providence welcomes 13 newcomers for the 2019-20 season. The Friars will have 12 freshmen on the roster, the most ever under Coach Leaman. Additionally, the Friars welcome graduate transfer student Michael Lackey. He joins the program after four years at Harvard. During his time with the Crimson he posted 41 starts and a .908 save percentage.

Providence has an exceptionally young roster, with 66% of the team being underclassmen. The Friars' roster features 12 freshmen and seven sophomores.

Returning 20+ Point Scorers
Last season, Providence had eight players eclipse the 20-point mark. Three of those eight players return for 2019-20. Jack Dugan ranked second on the team in total point production (39) and led the Friars in assists (29). Tyce Thompson racked up 25 points during his rookie campaign. He buried eight goals and added 17 assists, which ranked fifth on the squad. Spenser Young returns to the blue line for his senior campaign after a 21-point season, which included eight goals and 13 assists.

Goaltending Battle
Friar standout goaltender and active NCAA wins leader Hayden Hawkey graduated last spring after 125 career games played. Providence's 2019-20 roster features four goaltenders, including graduate student Michael Lackey, junior Gabe Mollot-Hill, sophomore Jimmy Scannell and freshman Jake Kucharski. Lackey boasts the most experience, having played 42 career games, including 26 last season. Mollot-Hill has made seven appearances and made 54 total saves as a Friar. Scannell appeared for just 1:27 last season, making two saves in his debut.

Providence holds the nation's second longest-active NCAA appearance streak, having made a sixth-straight tournament appearance in 2018-19. Denver leads the pack with 12-straight appearances.

Frozen Four Run
Providence appeared in its fifth-ever Frozen Four last season. The Friars, who were the fourth seed in the East Regional, took down Minnesota State (6-3) and Cornell (4-0) to win the East Regional and advance. Providence fell to eventual NCAA Champion, Minnesota Duluth, 4-1.

Providence had six alumni featured on NHL opening night rosters - Noel Acciari (Panthers), John Gilmour (Sabres), Mark Jankowski (Flames), Kevin Rooney (Devils), Tim Schaller (Canucks) and Brandon Tanev (Penguins).

• Holy Cross opened up with a 9-0 win over Simon Fraser in an exhibition game last weekend.
• Sophomore Anthony Vincent is the lone returner that tallied over 20 points last season (5-16-21). Seniors Neil Robinson (5-11-16) and Kevin Darrar (8-5-13) look to pick up the offense in 2019-20.
• Sophomore Eric Gordon appeared in 25 games between the pipes for the Crusaders last season, posting a 3.06 GAA and .892 save percentage with a 6-14-4 record.

SCOUTING THE U.S. NTDP
The USA Under-18 Team fell to Notre Dame, 4-2, on Oct. 6 in Plymouth, MI. The U-18 Team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the Irish responded with four unanswered goals. Tanner Latsch and Dylan Peterson were the goal scorers for the USA side. The squad traveled to Ferris State on Tuesday night and was blanked, 5-0 by the Bulldogs.

PRINTZ, LACKEY EARN HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY ACCOLADES
On the strength of four goals and five points, junior Greg Printz was named the Hockey East Player of the Week for the first time in his career. Michael Lackey earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors after his 29-save shutout.

FRIARS HOCKEY ON NESN
Beginning in the 2019-20 season, NESN and NESNplus will air more Hockey East games than ever before as the two entities further develop a relationship that began in 1984 when Hockey East and NESN were founded. The agreement secures television coverage for both men's and women's regular season contests, and extensive postseason coverage that will include both the men's and women's championship weekends. Games airing on NESN and NESNplus will be available exclusively on the networks and the NESNgo app within New England.
