Recapping Last Weekend's Split
- Providence recently split a Hockey East weekend, defeating No. 10 Boston College, 6-2, and falling to UMass Lowell in overtime, 3-2.
- Six different Friars scored in Friday night's win. Jack Dugan led the offense with three points on a goal and two assists. Parker Ford and Tyce Thompson each recorded two assists. Michael Lackey made 26 saves in net to earn his fourth win of the season.
- The Friars got goals from Thompson and Patrick Moynihan on Saturday against the River Hawks, but fell 4:20 into the overtime frame. Dugan and Michael Callahan assisted both goals, which came on the power play. Providence limited UMass Lowell to nine shots through the first two periods, but the River Hawks came on strong late, posting 23 through the remainder of the game. Lackey finished the game with 29 saves.
 
Point Production
- Providence's Jack Dugan and Tyce Thompson rank in the top five nationally in points. Dugan is first with 14 points, while Thompson is tied for second with 11. Dugan averages 2.33 points per game and Thompson averages 1.83. Greg Printz is close behind and is tied for sixth nationally with10 total points.
- Printz is tied for second nationally with six goals and while Dugan ranks first in assists with 10.

Dugan Named Hockey East Player of the Week
Dugan was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Oct. 28. He led all Hockey East players in points (five) and assists (four) last week. The sophomore has five multi-point games for the Friars already this season. He leads Hockey East in points per game and assists per game.
 
Ford Starts Strong
Freshman Parker Ford has three goals and five assists through just six games as a Friar. His eight points rank fourth best among that nation's freshmen, as he is averaging 1.33 points per game.
 
Lackey Takes Over In Net
Graduate transfer Michael Lackey has been outstanding so far in net for the Friars. He ranks ninth nationally in goals against average (1.63), seventh in save percentage (.941) and is tied for first in shutouts with two so far this season.
 
Scoring Margin
Providence boasts the nation's best scoring margin at 2.83, outscoring opponents 27-10 through six games. The Friars are second in scoring offense (4.50 goals per game) and are tied for seventh in scoring defense (1.67 goals against per game).
 
Strong on the Power Play
- The Friars are 8-for-27 on the power play so far this season and are ranked fifth nationally with a 29.6% conversion rate. Providence has scored at least one power-play goal in five out of the season's six games. The Friars posted three goals on advantages this past weekend.
- Six different players have scored on power-play chances, including two goals from Thompson and two from Moynihan.
 
Top Line Production
The Friars' top line of Greg Printz, Parker Ford and Jack Dugan has combined for 32 points through six games. That marks 46.4% of the team's total point production thus far. 
 
Pucks On Net
Providence leads the nation in shots on goal per game at 40.5.
 
Seeking Seven
Providence holds the nation's second longest-active NCAA appearance streak, having made a sixth-straight tournament appearance in 2018-19. Denver leads the pack with 12-straight appearances.

The Friars are 154-15-15 all-time under Nate Leaman when scoring three or more goals in a game.

The Friars are 140-5-12 all-time under Nate Leaman when holding a lead after two periods.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON COLLEGE/UMASS LOWELL
• The Friars and Eagles faced off six times in 2018-19, with the Eagles claiming four of those matchups including a Hockey East Quarterfinal series win last March. BC won a decisive Game 3, 2-1 at Schneider Arena. The Friars claimed the first meeting this season last Friday night by a score of 6-2.
• Providence is 27-47-11 all-time at home against Boston College.
• The Friars carry a five-game winning streak against Colgate, including a 3-2 win in Providence in Nov. 2016.
• The last loss to Colgate came in January of 1998.
 
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
• Colgate enters the weekend off a 0-1-1 series at home against Miami last weekend.
• Paul McAvoy, Ben Sharf and Nick Austin lead the Raiders in scoring with three points each. McAvoy has a team-high three goals.
• Sophomore Mitch Benson has started all seven games in goal in posting a 2.25 GAA and .911 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
• Boston College currently rides a three-game losing streak after falling to Providence last weekend. They will face-off against New Hampshire on Friday night before traveling down to Providence for Saturday.
• Seniors David Cotton and Julius Mattila lead the way with eight points through five games, while Logan Hutsko, Aapeli Rasanen and Jack McBain follow up with three points each.
• Spencer Knight, one of BC's four first round picks from 2019, has posted a 3.22 GAA and .902 save percentage through five appearances.

Beginning in the 2019-20 season, NESN and NESNplus will air more Hockey East games than ever before as the two entities further develop a relationship that began in 1984 when Hockey East and NESN were founded. The agreement secures television coverage for both men's and women's regular season contests, and extensive postseason coverage that will include both the men's and women's championship weekends. Games airing on NESN and NESNplus will be available exclusively on the networks and the NESNgo app within New England.
