HARTFORD, Conn. – Tyce Thompson registered two points as the No. 12/13 Providence College men's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie at UConn on Friday night at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.

NOTES
- The Friars jumped out on top just 3:38 of the first period on Tyce Thompson's 10th goal and 20th point of the season.
- UConn countered with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Benjamin Freeman and Carter Turnbull found the back of the net for the Huskies.
- After killing off a pair of penalties to begin the second period, the Friars responded with goals from Jason O'Neill and Jack Dugan to grab a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.
- Turnbull leveled the game at 3-3 just 2:04 into the third period with his second tally of the evening.
- Michael Lackey stood tall for the Friars down the stretch, denying a pair of breakaway bids to keep things even at 3-3.
- Providence killed off a penalty to begin overtime and finished the night 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.
- Jack Dugan continues to lead the NCAA in scoring with 27 points after his sixth goal of the season in the second period.
- Tyce Thompson added a goal and an assist and still ranks second in the nation in scoring with 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points.
- Thompson and Dugan are the only NCAA players to have reached the 20-point mark this season
- Cam McDonald registered assists in back-to-back games.
- Providence scored the first goal of the game for the 12th time in 13 games. The Friars are 6-4-2 when scoring first this season.
- The Friars outshot the Huskies by a 17-9 margin in the third period and overtime.

2-1 (UC) – 17:59/1st – EV – Carter Turnbull (Howarth) – Collected a loose puck off a faceoff win and beat Lackey over the glove.
2-2 (PC) – 8:23/2nd – EV – Jason O'Neill (McDonald, Thompson) – Second chance off a wrap-around attempt.
3-2 (PC) – 12:22/2nd – EV – Jack Dugan (Printz, Callahan) – Callahan's shot deflected off of Printz and Dugan chopped the loose puck past Vomacka from the bottom of the slot.
3-3 (UC) – 2:04/3rd – EV – Carter Turnbull (Rees, Kuznetsov) – Rush down the left wing and beat Lackey to the far post on a deke.
