- The Friars jumped out on top just 3:38 of the first period on
Tyce Thompson's 10
th goal and 20
th point of the season.
- UConn countered with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Benjamin Freeman and Carter Turnbull found the back of the net for the Huskies.
- After killing off a pair of penalties to begin the second period, the Friars responded with goals from
Jason O'Neill and
Jack Dugan to grab a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.
- Turnbull leveled the game at 3-3 just 2:04 into the third period with his second tally of the evening.

Michael Lackey stood tall for the Friars down the stretch, denying a pair of breakaway bids to keep things even at 3-3.
- Providence killed off a penalty to begin overtime and finished the night 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

Jack Dugan continues to lead the NCAA in scoring with 27 points after his sixth goal of the season in the second period.

Tyce Thompson added a goal and an assist and still ranks second in the nation in scoring with 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points.

Cam McDonald registered assists in back-to-back games.
- Providence scored the first goal of the game for the 12
th time in 13 games. The Friars are 6-4-2 when scoring first this season.
- The Friars outshot the Huskies by a 17-9 margin in the third period and overtime.
