LOWELL, Mass. – The No. 15/RV Providence College men's hockey team closed out the first half of 2019-20 with a 4-1 win on the road against No. 16/15 UMass Lowell on Saturday night at Tsongas Center.

NOTES
- Similar to Friday night, the Friars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals from Tyce Thompson and Cam McDonald in the opening 10:27.
- The Friars killed off two power play chances for the River Hawks in the first period.
- The teams skated through a scoreless second period, even in shots at 19-19 through 40 minutes.
- Patrick Moynihan beat Wall short side on the power play to give the Friars a 3-0 lead 1:53 into the third period. It was Moynihan's seventh of the season and sixth goal on the power play.
- Connor Sodergren cut the Friar lead to 3-1 at 7:51 of the third, finishing off a 2-on-1 with Andre Lee.
- Greg Printz registered his fifth multi-point game of his career and has five points over his last three games after sealing the game with an empty net goal, his 11th goal and 20th point of the season. The 11 goals and 20 points are career highs for the junior.
- Thompson extended his point streak to a career-long eight games (6-7-13) with a goal and an assist.
- Providence scored first for the 15th time in 17 games this season.
- Lackey was credited with his second career assist on Moynihan's goal in the third period. He finished the night stopping 27-of-28 shots.
- All three of Cam McDonald's goals this season have been game-winning goals.
- Nate Leaman moved into a tie with Paul Pooley for the second-most wins in program history with 185. Lou Lamoriello tops the program record with 248 wins while at Providence.

3-0 (PC) – 1:53/3rd – PP – Patrick Moynihan (Callahan, Lackey) – Stretch pass from Callahan to Moynihan streaking down the right wing and he beat Wall with a wrist shot on the short side.
3-1 (UML) – 7:51/3rd – EV – Connor Sodergren (Lee, Sawchuk) – Tap-in into an empty net off an odd-man rush.
4-1 (PC) – 18:13/3rd – EN – Greg Printz (Crozier) – Empty net goal from the defensive blue line.
