PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on Monday, Dec. 6.

Kingsley appeared in two games for the Friars this week, for a combined 48 saves. In the Friar's first game of the week against Merrimack, Kingsley recorded her first career shutout, 3-0, with 18 saves. She also earned her first career point in the matchup, with an assist off of a power play goal by Bailey Burton (Bloomington, Minn.).

In Sunday's series final against Princeton, Kingsley recorded 30 saves as the Friars tied the Tigers, 1-1, through overtime. The Friars skated man-down for the final 1:57 of overtime after Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) earned a minor for tripping. Kingsley was able to keep the Tigers off the board, tallying four saves.

This is the second Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honor Kingsley has received in the 2021-22 season.

The Friars are back in action after the holidays against Vermont for a single Hockey East matchup at Schneider Arena on Friday, Dec. 31.
