PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team earned its first BIG EAST victory of the season as they defeated the Seton Hall University Pirates (3-4-5, 0-3-1 BIG EAST), 2-0, on Oct. 4 in Providence, R.I. The Friars improved to a 4-4-2 record and a 1-2-1 mark in BIG EAST play.
Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) and
Lily Gibbs (Dedham, Mass.) both scored in the Friars' win.

• Providence started off the afternoon's scoring action in the 15th (14:30) minute when
Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) scored a header on a set piece.
Thaea Mouratidis (Toronto, Ont.) played the ball into the box on a corner, and Schoeley scored the header.
• The Friars controlled the position in the first half of play, outshooting Seton Hall by a margin of 10-1.
• In the 46th minute (43:37),
Lily Gibbs (Dedham, Mass.) scored by deflecting a cross past the keeper and extended the Friars' lead to 2-0. Her goal was assisted by
Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass) and
Isabella Kloock-Jensen (Aabenraa, Denmark).
• The Friars dominated both sides of the ball as they registered 15 shots and held the Pirates to just three.
