PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The USTFCCCA released its latest Regional Poll on Nov. 3. The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked No. 3 in the Northeast Region.
In the Friars' last meet at the BIG EAST Championship in Ashland, Neb. on Oct. 31, sophomore
Anna Gardiner (Downpatrick, Northern Ireland) finished sixth (20:03.2) of 96 runners and led the women to a third place finish. It marked the sixth straight time and the 14th time in the last 15 years the Friar women finished in the top three at the BIG EAST Championship. Kate Currie (Christchurch, New Zealand), senior
Cara Laverty (Derry, Ireland) and sophomore
Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) all scored for the Friars. Schmidt (11th, 20:22.7), Currie (12th, 20:24.0), Laverty (14th, 20:27.6) and Bush (18th, 20:45.9) along with Gardiner, all placed in the top-20 and earned All-BIG EAST honors.
The Friars will return to action on Friday, Nov. 14 at the NCAA Northeast Regionals in Hopkinton, N.H.
