Men’s and Women’s Track to Run at Boston University Valentine Invitational

The Friar men will compete on Feb. 14 and the women will compete on Feb. 15.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams will travel to Boston, Mass. for the 2025 BU Valentine Invitational. The two-day event will be held at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center and will be streamed live on FloSports. The men will compete on Friday, Feb. 14. The women will compete the following day on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Leading the Friar women will be graduate student Alex Millard (Kent, England). Millard will compete in the 3,000 meters. Millard finished 12th (15:22.71) in the 5,000 meters at the BU Terrier Class on Jan. 31. Fellow graduate student Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) will compete in the 5,000 meters, Mooney is seeded at 15:59.23, which she ran at the 2024 Penn Relays. Sophomore Keira Hall (Christchurch, New Zealand) is set to compete in the 1,000 meters this weekend. Also competing will be junior Cara Laverty (Derry, Ireland) and freshman Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the mile. Sophomore Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland) will toe the line in the 800 meters following an impressive performance at the BU Terrier Classic on Jan. 31 where she set a school record in the 500 meters in a time of 1:12.48.
Also racing this weekend will be Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.) and Chloe Higgins (Morristown, N.J.) in the 400 meters.
Competing for the men's team will be graduate student Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) in the 3,000 meters and graduate student Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) in the 5,000 meters. Freshman Cormac Dixon (Dublin, Ireland) is set to compete in the mile, Dixon won his heat of the 3,000 meters (7:56.59) at the BU Terrier Classic. Senior Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) will be competing in the 400 meters for the Friars. Recently, Lehman competed in the 400 meters at the BU Terrier Classic in a time of 48.44. Sophomore Jon Mignacca (Seekonk, Mass.) will compete in the High Jump. His jump of 2.05 meters at Holy Cross last spring is a Providence College record.
