PROVIDENCE R.I. -Â The Providence College volleyball team (9-7, 1-4 BIG EAST) defeated Seton Hall University (8-9, 0-5 BIG EAST) in straight sets (3-0) in BIG EAST action on Friday, Oct. 9.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars took set one, 25-18.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: Providence took set two, 25-21, and led the match, 2-0.
- It was a closely fought second set that featured seven ties, including the final one at 20-20, before the Friars pulled away with four consecutive points to take a 24-20 lead.
- The Friars held Seton Hall to a .047 hitting percentage.Â
- The Friars' Ava Dyer had six digs and a service ace in the set.Â
- PC's Tori Otter recorded six block assists while Aubrey Easterwood tallied five in the set.
- Â Sarah Musial and Miller McDonald combined for nine assists to pace the Friar.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars took set three, 25-17, and swept the match.Â
- The Friars scored the first point and never relinquished the lead.
- The Friars went on a 6-2 run in the middle of the set to build a 15-10 lead.Â
- PC had 14 digs in the set.
- The Friars had a .250 hitting percentage for the set.Â

- The victory over the Pirates gave the Friars their first BIG EAST win of the season.
- Tori Otter had eight kills and 11 block assists for the Friars.
- Aubrey Easterwood had 11 blocks assists.
