PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College graduate student goaltender
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) was named Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week on Monday, Feb. 16, following wins over Boston College and No. 14/15 Holy Cross.
Walinski posted a 1.47 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage, stopping 58 of 61 shots faced over the weekend. She recorded 35 saves in Friday's 3-2 overtime victory over Boston College, marking her 14th game this season with 30 or more saves. The graduate student did not allow an even-strength goal during the weekend.
Walinski has appeared in every game for the Friars this season and owns a 2.81 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage and an 11-17-2 record.
UP NEXT The Friars will conclude the regular season next weekend, beginning with a road game against Boston University on Friday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. at Walter Brown Arena in Boston, Mass. Providence will then host the No. 5/5 Northeastern Huskies for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m.
