HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Providence College women's golf team wrapped up play at the El Campeon Collegiate on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The Friars placed 10th overall with a team score of 1,066 (+202). Sophomore Gwendolyn Yarnall (East Aurora, N.Y.) led Providence, finishing tied for 12th with a three-round total of 243 (+27). The result marks her third top-20 finish of the season.
North Dakota State won the team title with a score of 943 (+79) over three rounds. Providence carded a 360 in the opening round a 342 in the second round and a 364 in the final round. North Dakota State's Norah Roberts won the individual title with a score of 227 (+11).
Yarnall recorded three birdies during the tournament en route to her 12th-place finish. She previously earned top-20 finishes at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic (tied for 17th) and the Lady Dolphin Invitational, where she placed tied for eighth, the highest finish by a Friar this season.
