Women’s Golf Completes Sacred Heart Fall Classic

Providence finished fifth overall with three Friars finishing in the top-20.
MILFORD, Conn. – The Providence College women's golf team finished the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn., on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The Friars placed fifth overall with a team score of 968 (+104). Freshman Annabel Widdifield (McLean, Va.) led the way for the Friars in her first collegiate tournament, finishing 15th while shooting 238 (+22) over 54 holes. Widdifield finished the week with three birdies.

Sacred Heart won the team title with a score of 922 (+58), while Sacred Heart's June Maite Cantu won the individual title with a score of 226 (+10) over three rounds. Providence recorded a 335 in the opening round, a 319 in the second round and closed with a 314 in the final round.
Following Hyndman, Providence had two more freshmen finish inside the top-20 including Maddie Hyndman (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Claire McTaggart (Barrington, R.I.). Hyndman finished tied for 18th with a team-high six birdies and a closing round of 75 while McTaggart was tied for 20th.
