Men's Hockey Adds Thomas Vandenberg To The 2026-27 Roster

The 2026 draft eligible forward finished 35th among North American skaters in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey has added Thomas Vandenberg (Nepean, Ont.) to the roster for the 2026-27 season. Vandenberg finished his rookie season in the OHL with the Ottawa 67s ranking fifth among rookies in scoring. Recently, he participated in the 2026 NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, N.Y.
 
Ranked No. 35 among North American skaters entering the 2026 NHL Draft, Vandenberg totaled 50 points on 25 goals and 25 assists with a +22 rating in 59 games with the 67s in 2025-26. In nine playoff games, he registered seven points on four goals and three assists. Vandenberg was named OHL Rookie of the Week on September 22 after posting four points, including a hat trick in his OHL debut against Kingston. He appeared in five games for Canada at the 2026 IIHF U18 World Championship, scoring one goal and participated in the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game.
 
In 2024-25, Vandenberg recorded 18 points on nine goals and nine assists in 55 games with Cedar Rapids (USHL). In 2023-24, he won HEO U16 AAA championship with Ottawa Myers Automotive, recording 43 points (24-19—43) over 26 season games before tacking on 16 points (9-7—16) in 12 playoff outings.
