Brian Garrepy scored his first two career goals on Monday.



HAMDEN, Conn. – The Providence College men's soccer team lost to Quinnipiac, 3-2, in its first road game of the season on Monday (Aug. 24). Redshirt junior Brian Garrepy (Warwick, R.I.) scored his first and second career goals for the Friars.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
• The Bobcats scored the first goal in the 29th minute as William Holum stole the ball from a Providence defender and finished in the bottom-left corner.
• Providence tied the game 1-1 with eight minutes remaining in the first half as Brian Garrepy cleaned up a rebound after a free kick from Angelo Ventrella (Toronto, Ont.) was saved.
• With two minutes remaining in the first half, Steban Lopera's cross into the box hit the post but Garrepy was there to clean up the rebound and give the Friars a 2-1 lead.
• The Friars held a 12-9 advantage in shots in the opening half, while Ryan Carney (Dunstable, Mass.) made five saves for Providence.
• The Bobcats tied the game 2-2 in the opening minute of the second half as Benjamin Telle set up his teammate, Sixten Karlsson.
• Quinnipiac took a 3-2 lead, Taehyeon Lim scored after being rewarded a penalty kick in the 82nd minute.
