Men’s Soccer to Host Cross-Town Rival Brown on Tuesday

The Friars look to remain unbeaten at home.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team (4-3-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) will return home to host cross-town rival Brown University (4-1-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS…
The Friars enter Tuesday's match with a 4-3-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST overall record after falling to No. 14 Creighton, 3-0, on Friday, Sept. 18 in Omaha, Neb. Providence will look to get back in the win column as they return to Chapey Field for the first time since defeating Rhode Island, 3-0, on Sept. 7.
Providence remains unbeaten at home this season with a 3-0-1 record. The Friars have earned victories over Sacred Heart, Long Island University and Rhode Island, while playing Boston University to a 1-1 draw.
The Friars have scored 18 goals through eight games this season. Alvaro Maneiro (Madrid, Spain) and Brian Garrepy (Warwick, R.I.) lead the team with five goals each. Maneiro leads Providence with 11 points, while Garrepy and Angelo Ventrella (Toronto, Ont.) have each recorded 10 points. Ventrella has registered two goals and a team-high six assists.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Carney (Dunstable, Mass.) has started each of Providence's eight matches this season. The Friars have allowed 14 goals while recording one shutout.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BROWN…
Providence will host its cross-town rivalry with Brown on Tuesday night. The Friars hold a 10-17-8 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams last met on Sept. 23, 2025, at Brown, where they played to a 1-1 draw.
SCOUTING THE BEARS…
Brown enters Tuesday's match with a 4-1-1 overall record. The Bears are unbeaten in their last four matches and most recently played NJIT to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, Sept. 19. Brown has scored eight goals through its first six matches while allowing just four. The Bears have recorded three shutouts this season.
James Snaith leads Brown with three goals after scoring the equalizer against NJIT. Lorenzo Amaral has added two goals for the Bears. Brown's lone loss of the season came in a 2-1 setback at UConn on Sept. 3.
