Women’s Golf Ready For Sacred Heart Fall Classic

The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's golf team returns to action on Monday, Sept. 28 through Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. for the Sacred Heart Fall Classic.
Play begins Monday morning with rounds one and two in a shotgun format. The third and final round will be played Tuesday. The field includes seven other schools: Brown, Fairfield, New Haven, Siena, Sacred Heart, Bryant and Hofstra.
At last year's Sacred Heart Fall Classic, the Friars finished 15th overall.
Great River Golf Club, ranked among Golf Digest's best public courses in the United States, has been owned and operated by Sacred Heart since 2015. A par-72 layout designed by Tommy Fazio, the course stretches 7,000 yards and has been home to Sacred Heart golf since 2003.
The Friars opened the season on Monday, Sept. 14 through Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Warrior Invitational at Haverhill Country Club in Haverhill, Mass. Providence placed fifth overall with a team score of 947 (+83). Freshman Maddie Hyndman (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) led the way for the Friars in her first collegiate tournament, finishing tied for 13th while shooting 232 (+16) over 54 holes.

The Friars will return to action on Monday, Oct. 12 through Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
