Grant Stidham was hired as an assistant coach in 2025, and will be working directly with the program’s goalkeepers.
Prior to becoming an assistant coach, Stidham was an assistant goalkeeper coach for Austin Peay University during the 2024 season. During his time there, he assisted with practice planning, scheduled individual player workouts, designed and led goalkeeper-specific training sessions, supported player identification and recruiting efforts, and coordinated team travel and logistics. He also played a key role in supporting both individual player development and overall team performance. His success led him to coach five members of the program to All-ASUN Conference Teams.
Stidham also served as Assistant Goalkeeper Director and Classic Coach at Highland Football Club in Asheville, N.C. for three seasons (2021-24) before turning towards college coaching.
Stidham was a four-year goalkeeper for the UNC-Asheville men’s soccer team (2018-22) and led his team to the Big South Conference Tournament in 2021. Upon graduating, Stidham stayed at his alma mater to coach during the 2023 season. In just one season he helped guide the Bulldogs to their first winning record since 2005 and led the goalkeepers to their lowest mark in the program’s digital record-keeping era with 1.12 goals-against average.
Stidham earned his bachelor’s degree in history and a teaching license from UNC-Asheville in 2023. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Soccer Coaching from Ohio University in May 2025.
