Providence, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team picked up its fourth straight win overall and its second in BIG EAST action as the Friars knocked off the Seton Hall Pirates in three straight games Saturday afternoon at Alumni Hall.
The Friars' 3-0 sweep included wins of 15-4, 15-9 and 15-7 as PC improves its record to 10-9 overall and 3-2 in BIG EAST play. Seton Hall falls to 12-9 on the year and 1-4 in league play.
Junior hitter Samanthaa Lennon (Montclair, N.J.) led the Friars on the afternoon recording 15 kills in 21 attempts for a .619 hitting percentage. She was joined in double figure kills by Annie Cella (So., Burr Ridge, Ill.) with 14 and Sarah Katinger (So., Stratford, Conn.) who added 12.
For the match, the Friars had a .306 hitting percentage compared to Seton Hall's .041. PC's senior setter Colleen Lee (Tonawanda, N.Y.) added 46 assists in the three-game match.
Providence returns to BIG EAST action on Sunday, October 24th when they host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a 2:00 p.m. game at Alumni Hall.
