Corinne Rosen scored the first goal of the game for the Friars when she intercepted a pass and slid a low shot under St. Lawrence goaltender Caryn Ungewitter at 7:47 of the first. Yates put the Friars ahead 2-0 with her first goal of the game at 7:23 of the second. Trisha Powers lifted in a rebound to put the Saints on the scoreboard at 8:59 of the second period. Powers netted her second goal of the period as she stole a pass and put a low shot by Friar goaltender Sara DeCosta in a short-handed situation at the 13:27 of the second.
PC's offense came to life in the third period with three unanswered goals. Yates registered her second of the game at 5:21 and Tyng fired in a wrist shot at 11:26 to give PC a 4-2 lead. Jess Tabb added an empty net goal to seal the win for the Friars.
Sara DeCosta made 29 stops in net for the Friars. Ungewitter recorded 30 saves in the loss for St. Lawrence.
With the win, Providence raised its record to 14-5-2 overall and 11-4-2 in ECAC play, while St. Lawrence dropped to 8-15 overall and 5-13 in league play.
Providence College will return to action against Princeton at PC's Schneider Arena on Feb. 6 at 2:00 p.m.
