St. John's University (7-5-0, 0-3-0): The St. John's University Red Storm travels to Providence College for the 14th meeting in the all-time series between both schools with Providence holding a 10-3-0 edge. St. John's enters the game with a 7-5-0 overall mark with a 0-3-0 record in the BIG EAST Northeast Division. In their most recent game, the Red Storm was defeated by Syracuse University, 1-0, on Friday, September 29. On offense, St. John's is led by senior midfielder Jaime Clark (Massapequa, N.Y.) who leads the squad with three goals and seven assists. In goal, sophomore Tina Fogg (Warwick, R.I.) and senior Jen Frankel (Mount Laurel, N.J.) have seen all of the action this season.
Providence College Friars (3-7-0, 0-3-0): The Providence College Friars return to home action on October 1, when they host St. John's University at 1:00 p.m. at PC's Glay Field. The Friars return to action after posting a 3-0 win over Loyola University Chicago on Friday, September 29. Friday's victory brought an end to PC's seven-game losing streak. In the win over Loyola, junior forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) netted a career-high three goals to lead the Friars to the victory. For the season, Welsh has tallied five goals and two assists. In goal, freshman goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) has posted a 3-7-0 record with a 1.63 goals against average and a .802 save percentage. Haines recorded her third shutout of the season in the win over Loyola on Friday.
