PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Providence College junior Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) tied for a match-high with 18 kills on 38 total attacks for a .316 hitting percentage to lead the Friars to a 3-0 (30-22, 27-30, 30-27, 30-27) victory over Quinnipiac in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday, October 22, at Mullaney Gymnasium.

Sophomore Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) helped Providence (3-20) on offense with 18 kills and tallied 10 digs for the defensive effort. Freshman Kerry Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) earned a double-double with 17 kills on 34 total attacks for a .294 hitting percentage and 10 digs. Sophomore Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) and junior Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) had 10 digs a piece.

Quinnipiac (3-16) was led by Jackie Gallo. She recorded a double-double for the Bobcats with 15 kills and a match-high 11 digs.

Providence defeated Quinnipiac for the second time this season. The two teams previously met on September 20 as the Friars earned a 3-0 victory at the Lehigh Mountain Hawk Classic.

The Friars return to home action on Saturday, October 25 against Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. in Mullaney Gymnasium.
