The Providence College volleyball team defeated Saint Francis, 3-0 on Saturday, October 20. The Friars won the match on senior day with scores of 30-15, 30-9, and 30-21. With the win Providence improves to 15-8.
Junior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) finished with a match-high 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .600. Seniors Sarah Fleming (Saint Paul, Minn.) tallied 11 kills and eight digs and Kasey Adinolfi (Branford, Conn.) registered a team-high 12 digs in their final home match as Friars.
Junior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied eight kills and a match-high five blocks. Junior setter Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) recorded a match-high 30 assists and four aces. Freshman Sondra Snyder (Norwood, N.J.) also contributed seven assists in the third game.
Providence will return to action on Friday and Saturday, October 26-27 when they will participate in the New Jersey Institute of Technology Tournament. The Friars are scheduled to play Sacred Heart, Howard and the host school NJIT.
