ALBANY, N.Y. - The Providence College volleyball team (1-29, 0-11 America East) fell to the Albany Great Danes (12-14, 9-2) in Albany, N.Y. on Friday, Nov. 9. Albany took the match in straight sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-13.

Sophomore Kelly Ashmore (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Friars with eight kills and added eight digs. Freshman Lindsay Witt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) collected seven digs and led a team-high .467 hitting percentage. Freshman Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) led the team with 25 assists, while senior Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) had a match-high 20 digs.

With the win, the Great Danes clinch their fifth consecutive America East regular season championship, and eighth in the past nine years. Albany was led by Dunja Prgomet who had a double-double (13k, 13d) and Gabby Whitworth who led all players with 35 assists.

The Friars will play their final game of the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 11 when the host the Hartford Hawks at 1:00 p.m. The match will be played in Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I., with senior day ceremonies preceding the match.
