OMAHA, Neb. - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Creighton in straight sets (25-10, 25-12, 25-7) on Sunday afternoon. Creighton improves to 15-7 (8-1 BIG EAST) while Providence falls to 4-19 (0-9 BIG EAST).

Sophomores Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) and Kayla Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) each recorded five kills for the Friars, while junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) contributed 16 assists. Sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) finished tied with Fitzgerald with a team-best six digs.

Creighton was led by Lauren Smith who posted 12 kills. Michelle Sicner registered 20 assists while Katie Neisler and Kate Elman tallied seven digs apiece.

The Friars next return home to play at Alumni Hall against St. John's on Saturday, Oct. 25 for a 2:00 p.m. match.
