Villanova, Pa. - The Providence College volleyball team lost to Villanova in three sets on Oct. 8. The Friars' record is now 12-10 (0-6) while Villanova improves to 13-7 (4-3). The set scores were 18-25, 18- 25 and 20-25.
Senior Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) and sophomore Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) led the Friar attack, recording nine and seven kills respectively. Setting the attack was junior Chicyia Clark (Huntington Beach, Calif.) with 24 assists.
Defensive specialist Michelle Cruz led the Friars in digs with 14. Sophomore Kara Mason (Boca Raton, Fla.) also tallied 7 digs in the loss.
Claire Crutchfield and Darcy Wolf led Villanova's attack, tallying 12 and 10 digs respectively.
The Friars return home for their next two matches. Providence will take on Seton Hall on Oct. 14 and St. John's on Oct. 16.
