The Providence College women's ice hockey team fell to Syracuse University, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at Tennity Ice Pavilion.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The Orange outshot the Friars 15-7 in the first period. Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) made 14 saves in the opening frame.
- With only 26 seconds remaining in the first period, Syracuse's Kelli Rowswell skated through traffic in front and was able to put home her second goal of the season. Brooke Avery and Lindsay Eastwood picked up the assists.
- Avery scored a goal of her own with just under three minutes remaining in the second period. Rowswell took a shot that hit the post and Avery was there to bury the rebound.
- Blair Parent (Blaine, Minn.) cut Syracuse's lead in half just 6:06 into the third period. Her goal directly off the face-off came only four seconds into the Friars' fifth power play. Cassidy MacPherson (Oakville, Ontario) was credited with the assist after winning the draw.
- Sophomore Meaghan Rickard (Coventry, R.I.) and junior Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) lead the team in shots with five apiece.
- Myers ended the day with 22 saves in the loss. Abbey Miller stopped 31/32 shots for the Orange.
