The Providence College women's soccer team defeated the Seton Hall Pirates, 2-1, on Oct. 22 at Owen T. Carroll Field.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
1st Half
- Providence outshot Seton Hall 7-5 in the first half. They also held a 2-0 advantage in corners going into the break.
- The Friars held a one goal lead from the 12th minute through halftime.
2nd Half
- The Pirates leveled the score about 15 minutes through the second period. The Friars then regained the lead with just eight minutes remaining.
- The Pirates had a dangerous chance in the box with about a minute remaining. Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) was able to make the save to preserve the win.
HOW WE SCORED
- Kayla Steeves (Needham, Mass.) served a corner into the box where Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) was able to get a touch. Christina Rodgers (Scotch Plains, N.J.) then corralled the ball and put it past the keeper in the 12th minute.
- Amber Birchwell notched the game-winner in the 82nd minute of play. She dribbled through two defenders and was able to finish from the penalty spot.
HOW THEY SCORED
- Marissa Aniolowski scored an unassisted goal in the 61st minute off a free kick. She grabbed a rebound during a scramble in front and was able to put it home.
