CHICAGO, ILL. - The Providence College volleyball team defeated the DePaul Blue Demons three sets to none on Saturday, Oct. 7. With the win, Providence moves to 14-7 overall and 3-3 in the BIG EAST.
 SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
 -The Friars took the first set with a score of 25-20.
 - Sophomore Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) recorded six kills in the first set to lead Providence.
 -Freshman Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) added 14 assists and seven digs in the first set.
 -Providence held the Blue Demons to a .086 hitting percentage in the first set.
 SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
 -Providence built upon their lead by taking the second set, 25-19.
 -Root again led the Friars in kills with five. Sophomore Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and sophomore Cayla Veverka (Collegeville, Pa.) each added four kills as well.
 -Barber recorded 16 assists in the set.
 -Senior Chicyia Clark (Huntington Beach, Calif.) tallied six digs in the set for Providence.
 -The Friars again held DePaul to a low hitting percentage in the second set. The Blue Demons had a percentage of .095 in set two.
 SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
 -Providence closed out the match with a 25-19 third set victory.
 -Root blasted seven kills in the third and final set while Veverka added five of her own.
 -Barber recorded double-digit assists (11) in the third set.
 -Junior Megan Onyundo (Woodbridge, Va.) led the Friars in digs in the third set with five.
 MATCH HIGHS
 -Root was the team leader in kills for the match as she recorded a total of 18. Veverka was not far behind with 13 kills.
 -Barber recorded a double-double for the Friars as she tallied 41 assists and 13 digs.
 -Onyundo was the team leader in digs for the night as she had 14 on the night.
 -As a team, the Friars recorded 51 kills and 57 digs.
 NEXT UP:
 The Friars return to Providence for the first of a six-weekend home stand on Oct. 13-15. Providence will take on the Xavier Musketeers on Friday, Oct. 13 before facing the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday, Oct. 15 to finish off the weekend.
