PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team defeated UMass Lowell, 2-0, on Sunday, Sept. 17th, at Anderson Stadium. With the win, the Friars improve to 5-4-0 on the year. Casey Estey (Kensington, N.H.) and Hannah McNulty (Warwick, N.Y.) each netted one goal for the Friars. Goaltender Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) collected her third shutout of the season.

- The Friars led the attack in the first half in shots (7-1) and corners (4-1).
- UMass Lowell goalkeeper Julia Schneider recorded five saves to Shelby Hogan's blank sheet in the half. - The Friars took the lead in the 26th minute on a tally by Estey.
2nd Half
- The Friars had a strong attacking presence in the second half; the River Hawk's defense cleared a shot by Estey in the 34th minute to keep the scored, 1-0.
- The Friars led in shots (15-2) and corners (9-5) in the game.
- Schneider tallied seven saves to Hogan's one. Hogan's first save of the game came in the 82nd minute of play,
- The Friars scored in the 76th minute on a corner taken Kayla Steeves (Neeham, Mass.), which McNulty finished off with a header.

- (25.27) Estey recorded her first goal of the season in the 26th minute on an impressive header off of a feed by Christina Rodgers (Scotch Plains, N.Y.) from outside of the 18-yard box. - (75:30) McNulty finished a header on a cross from Steeves on a corner.
