SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Providence College Volleyball team was defeated by Bryant University 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 19. With the loss, Providence drops to 11-4 on the season.
In both the first and second sets, the Friars showed grit and determination as they found themselves down early to the Bulldogs. In each set, the Friars worked their way back into contention and forced the sets into extra points. Unfortunately, Providence dropped both sets, 27-25 and 26-24, respectively.
Providence would lose the third set with a score do 25-11.
Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) led the Friars in kills against Bryant as she tallied 7 in the three sets of action.
Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) recorded a double-double for Providence as she led the Friars in both assists (20) and digs (11).

The Friars will open up BIG EAST play with a match against the Villanova Wildcats on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
