COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Providence College women's ice hockey standout
Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) was one of 44 players selected to attend the 2018 U.S. Women's National Team Winter Camp, as announced by USA Hockey on Nov. 28.
The camp will take place from Dec. 17-21 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. The annual camp serves to help players prepare for upcoming international events, including the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship.
The roster is highlighted by 22 players that won gold with USA Hockey at the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang and 22 members of the recent Four Nations Cup roster. Murphy is one of 23 active NCAA Players to be selected.
So far this season Murphy has racked up 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. She ranks fifth in the nation in points per game (1.71), fourth in goals per game (0.86) and first in game-winning goals (six). The sophomore forward has registered a point in 13 of the team's 14 games. In addition, she's had eight multi-point performances.
