PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 5.
Putigna helped the Friars improve to 6-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Hockey East with a 4-2 win over No. 5 Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 3. She scored two goals and added an assist for a team-high three points in the game. It was the first time in Putigna's storied career that she was able to tally multiple goals in a game. The senior forward now has 85 career points on 34 goals and 51 assists.
