Matt Koopman notched his first goal of the year to put Providence up 2-0 but Graham McPhee answered just 32 seconds later to cut the deficit in half.

Cam McDonald's one-timer gave the Friars a two-goal cushion once again, but Logan Hutsko responded 46 seconds later to make it a one-goal game again. It was McDonald's second of the season and it turned out to be his second game-winning marker in as many games.
