GAME FLOW & NOTES
-New Hampshire wasted no time in taking a 1-0 1:36 into the opening frame. Maddie Truax stopped the puck on the boards from being cleared before dishing the puck to Carlee Turner behind the net. Turner fed Talli Warren in front of the crease for a one-timer over Clare Minnerath's (Sartell, Minn.) right shoulder.
- Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) knotted the game at one goal apiece with 13:28 remaining in the first. Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) played the puck to Murphy in front of Minnerath. Murphy took the puck the length of the ice and put a wrist shot from the top of the left circle over the goaltender's right shoulder.
- Providence earned its first lead of the afternoon on Whitney Dove's (Port Moody, British Columbia) first goal of the season, after picking up six assists in the first seven games. The Friars went on the power play due to New Hampshire being called for high-sticking. Meaghan Rickard (Coventry, R.I.) cycled the puck back to Chloe Gonsalves (Toronto, Ontario) at the top of the slot. Gonsalves fed Dove at the top of the left circle that she put top-shelf.
- Gonsalves' assist marked her second of the season and 11th of her career. Rickard picked up her third of the assist for her fourth point in 2019.
- Lauren Martin scored two unanswered goals for the Wildcats to take a 3-2 advantage. The first goal came with 57 seconds remaining in the first period. Martin found herself one-on-one with Minnerath before deking to her backhand and sliding the puck in the open net.
- Martin's second goal came at the midway point of the second period. Wenczkowki won the faceoff in their offensive zone before Martin finished a wrister from the slot.
- New Hampshire added three goals in the final frame to take the 6-2 victory. Two of the three goals came on the powerplay as New Hampshire went 3-7 on the power play for the afternoon.
- Providence saw six power play opportunities in the game, with Dove's goal in the second period being the team's lone conversion.
- The Friars are now 3-3-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the Hockey East.
