Recapping Last Weekend
Providence played just one game last weekend, taking on cross-town rival Brown in the 34th Mayor's Cup. The Friars claimed the Cup for the fourth-consecutive season with a 4-2 win. Jack Dugan, Parker Ford and Tyce Thompson each chipped in two-point performances to help the Friars improve to 8-4-3 overall.
 
Dynamic Duo
- Providence's Jack Dugan and Tyce Thompson are ranked first and second, respectively, in total point production so far this season. Dugan leads the nation with 31 total points on six goals and 25 assists. His 25 assists is also a nation-best. Thompson has 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 total points. His 12 goals is tied for first in the nation.
- In 15 games, Dugan has registered 12 multi-point outings. He is just the third NCAA player since 2012-13 to hit at least 30 points in his first 15 games of the season.
- Thompson has nine multi-point games and 13 games with at least one point. He's currently on his second six-game point streak (5-5-10) of the season. Thompson has registered a goal in 11 of 15 games this season.
 
Crozier Making His Mark
Freshman defenseman and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Max Crozier ranks third among all NCAA rookie defensemen in scoring with 10 points. His eight assists rank second, while his +10 ratings rank fourth among all freshmen blueliners.
 
Underclassmen Success
The Providence sophomore class ranks first nationally among second-year classes in scoring with 73 points on 23 goals and 50 assists. The Friars' freshman class ranks third nationally among other rookie classes in scoring with 49 points on 20 goals and 29 assists.
 
Ford Starts Strong
Freshman Parker Ford has six goals and eight assists through 15 games as a Friar. His 14 points rank fifth among the nation's freshmen, as he is averaging 0.93 points per game. Ford leads all NCAA freshmen in plus-minus with a +13 rating.
 
Spreading Out the Points
Nineteen different Friars have at least one point so far this season. Eight of those players have 10+ points and three of them are averaging more than a point per game.
 
Striking First
Providence has scored the game's first goal in 13 out of 15 games so far this season. The Friars are 7-4-2 when scoring first this season.
 
Outscoring Opponents
- Providence has outscored its opponents 59-40 so far this season. The Friars are tied for 10th nationally in scoring margin, with a 1.27 differential.
- Providence ranks ffith nationally in scoring offense, averaging 3.93 goals per game.
 
Strong on the Power Play
- The Friars are 16-for-61 on the power play so far this season and are ranked sixth nationally with a 26.2% conversion rate. Providence has scored at least one power-play goal in 10 out of the season's 15 games. In five of those games, the Friars have netted multiple goals on advantages.
- Eight different players have scored on power-play chances, including five goals from Patrick Moynihan and three from Tyce Thompson. Moynihan ranks third nationally in power play goals.
 
Top Line Production
The Friars' top line of Greg Printz, Parker Ford and Jack Dugan has combined for 61 points through 15 games. That marks 38.4% of the team's total point production thus far.
 
Pucks On Net
Providence ranks second in the nation in shots on goal per game at 36.7.
 
Seeking Seven
Providence holds the nation's second longest-active NCAA appearance streak, having made a sixth-straight tournament appearance in 2018-19. Denver leads the pack with 12-straight appearances.
 
Three is the Magic Number
The Friars are 158-15-18 all-time under Nate Leaman when scoring three or more goals in a game.
 
After 40
The Friars are 144-5-15 all-time under Nate Leaman when holding a lead after two periods.
 
Historic Pace
Dugan currently sits at 31 points. He is currently on pace for 70.4 points in 34 regular season games. The last Friar to reach 50 points was Devin Rask in 2000-01, while Mike Boback was the last to reach 60 points with his 72-point season in 1991-92. The program single-season record for points was Ron Wilson's 87 points in 1974-75.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UMASS LOWELL
• The teams will conclude their three-game season series this weekend with a home-and-home between Friday night at Schneider Arena.
• The River Hawks snapped a six-game losing streak to the Friars with a 3-2 overtime win in Providence on Oct. 26.
• The Friars are 7-3-0 over the last 10 meetings.
 
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
• UMass Lowell claimed the first-ever Turkey Leg Classic with wins over RPI (4-0) and Penn State (3-2, OT) last weekend.
• The River Hawks are led by a pair of freshmen in Matt Brown 5-12-17 and Carl Berglund (6-9-15). Berglund scored the overtime winner for UMass Lowell at Providence on Oct. 26.
• Senior Kenny Hausinger (4-6-10) is the other double-digit scorer for the River Hawks.
• November's Hockey East Goaltender of the Month Tyler Wall has posted a 9-2-4 record with a 1.62 GAA and .947 save percentage in 15 games this season.
 
FRIARS HOCKEY ON NESN
Beginning in the 2019-20 season, NESN and NESNplus will air more Hockey East games than ever before as the two entities further develop a relationship that began in 1984 when Hockey East and NESN were founded. The agreement secures television coverage for both men's and women's regular season contests, and extensive postseason coverage that will include both the men's and women's championship weekends. Games airing on NESN and NESNplus will be available exclusively on the networks and the NESNgo app within New England.
