TALKING POINTS            
- Scott Conway scored with with 2:56 remaining the in third period as the Friars edged No. 2 UMass by a 3-2 score last Saturday at a sold out Schneider Arena.
- The Minutemen entered the scoring column first with 9:56 remaining in the first period. Cale Maker stole the puck on UMass' blue line before having a one-on-one breakaway with Hayden Hawkey. Maker went to his backhand across the crease and flicked it over Hawkey's stick side.
- Mario Ferraro was assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct for hitting from behind at 13:17 of the first period, but Providence couldn't capitalize on the power play.
- Jason O'Neill netted the equalizer 6:10 into the middle stanza. O'Neill received a pass at the top of the far circle that he finished with a wrist shot over Murray's glove. The goal marked O'Neill's fourth on the season.
- The Friars wasted no time to take the lead as Josh Wilkins scored just 2:21 later to give Providence a 2-1 lead. Davis Bunz delivered a cross-ice pass to Wilkins that he powered home before Murray could recover. Wilkins' goal was his 10th of the season and 38th of his career.
- Niko Hildenbrand brought the game to its second tie, 2-2, with 5:53 left in the second period. Felix put a puck on net from the blue line that rebounded to Hildenbrand between the circles, Hildenbrand kept fired a low wrist shot that snuck through Hawkey's legs.
- The Friars regained the lead 17:04 into the third period. Tyce Thompson grabbed the puck that was tied up on the boards before passing to Conway skating to the front of the net. Conway one-timed it home through Murray.
- Neither team could capitalize on their extra man advantage, the teams combined to go 0-9 on the powerplay. Providence had five opportunities opposed to UMass' four.
- The Minutemen outshot Providence, 36-30.
- Hawkey stopped 34-of-36 shots for his 67th career win.
- Wilkins has now tallied three-consecutive seasons of 30-plus points and becomes the first Friar to accomplish that feat since Devin Rask and Peter Fregoe in 2002-03.
- Providence snaps a three-game losing streak to the Minutemen. All three games between the teams this season have ended as 3-2 outcomes.
- The Friars improved to 6-4-2 against ranked opponents this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UCONN
The Friars and Huskies will complete their season series on Tuesday night in the XL Center, the first meeting since Oct. 19.
• The Friars have won seven of the last eight meetings between the two schools, including a 7-2 win at Schneider Arena back in October.
• All time, the Friars are 3-0-1 at the XL Center.
 
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
• UConn enters Tuesday night's matchup being shutout in the last two games after a three-game winning streak. The Huskies were blanked by Boston University on Feb. 16 and UMass on Feb. 21.
• Senior Karl El-Mir paces the Huskies with 13 goals and 14 assists, while freshman Jachym Kondalik has posted four goals and 21 assists.
• Freshman Tomas Vomacka has started the last five games for the Huskies, going 3-2-0 and recording a .942 save percentate over that span. Overall, Vomacka has a 2.38 GAA and .917 save percentage in 2018-19.
• UConn sits in ninth place in the Hockey East standings as has been eliminated from postseason contention.
 
HAWKEY, WILKINS NAMED SEMIFINALISTS FOR WALTER BROWN AWARD
Goaltender Hayden Hawkey and forward Josh Wilkins were named semifinalists for the 67th Walter Brown Award, presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England.
 
AIMING FOR 20 WINS
The Friars need one win to secure their sixth-consecutive season of at least 20 wins.
 
PUCKS ON NET
The Friars rank second among all NCAA schools with a +343 shots on goal margin. Overall, Providence has outshot opponents by an average of 10.39 shots per game. Their 23.48 shots on goal allowed per game ranks fifth overall in the NCAA.
 
CONWAY, WILKINS SNAP GOAL SCORING DROUGHTS
Scott Conway and Josh Wilkins each snapped nine-game goal droughts on Saturday against UMass. They last scored on Jan. 15 at Brown.
 
ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.
 
ALL GAMES TO AIR LIVE ON NEWSRADIO 104.7 FM
Beginning with the 2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men's hockey games, in addition to all pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the Nate Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all the live action this season on 104.7 FM.  Logan also will host the Nate Leaman Coaches show on 104.7 FM.
 
WIN BIG
In their 19 victories this season, Providence's average margin of victory has been an average of 3.05 goals, which ranks fifth in the NCAA. The Friars have outscored opponents by an average of 4.21-1.16 in those 19 wins this season and all but three of those 19 wins have been by at least two goals.
 
MULTIPLE MILESTONES FOR HAWKEY
Goaltender Hayden Hawkey recorded his single-season program record sixth shutout of the season against Maine on Feb. 8. His 67 career wins are a new program record. His .652 winning percentage currently ranks second all-time in program history. The 67 wins lead all active NCAA goaltenders while his 15 shutouts are second among active goaltenders (Jake Kielly - Clarkson, 16). Hawkey has surrendered just 10 goals in his last nine games, stopping 225 of 235 shots over that span for a .957 save percentage.
 
SCHNEIDER SUCCESS
The current group of seniors have dominated at Schneider Arena over the last three-plus seasons, going 48-10-8 over that span (.788).
 
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
The Friars are 145-13-15 all-time under Nate Leaman when scoring three or more goals in a game.
 
AFTER 40
The Friars are 135-5-12 all-time under Nate Leaman when holding a lead after two periods.
