PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's hockey defenseman
Whitney Dove (Port Moody, British Columbia) earned postseason honors on Thursday, March 5. Dove was named a Second Team All-Star for the first time in her career after being named the Hockey East Rookie of the Year after her freshman campaign, while also becoming a unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
Dove had an impressive senior year playing in all 36 games and finishing the season tied for first in points on the team with 28. She tallied nine goals and a team-high 19 assists. She finished the season with career-highs in goals (9), assists (19), points (28) and shots (13) while accumulating a plus-minus of +18. She ranks ninth in the Hockey East in blocked shots (55). Dove scored two game-winning goals on the road against Merrimack on Nov. 22 and at Holy Cross on Feb. 21.
