PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's ice hockey team slotted in at No. 9 in the USCHO Division I Women's Poll, as announced on Monday, Oct. 11.
The Friars are coming off a 2-0 weekend sweep with wins over previously ranked No. 2 Northeastern (3-0) and New Hampshire (3-1). Providence is tied for ninth with Cornell at 32 points. Hockey East foes, Boston College (81) and Northeastern University (65) are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Wisconsin (150) maintains their No. 1 spot at the top with a 6-0-0 start to the season.
The Friars are back in action this weekend with a home-and-home series versus No. 8 Quinnipiac. Providence hosts the Bobcats on Friday, Oct. 15 (3:00 p.m.) and travels to Hamden, Conn. on Saturday, Oct. 16 (3:00 p.m.).
