MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Jaxson Stauber made 37 saves as the No. 16 Providence College men's hockey skated to a 2-2 tie against Wisconsin in the title game of the 2021 Holiday Faceoff at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis. The Badgers claimed the tournament title with a 2-1 win in the shootout.

NOTES
- The skated through a scoreless first period as the Badgers held a 10-9 advantage in shots.
- Providence struck twice in a span of 1:01 during the second period on goals from
Matt Koopman and
Alex Esposito.
- Koopman finished off a rebound from a
Uula Ruikka shot for his third tally of the season at 12:06.
Riley Duran was credited was the secondary assist.
- Esposito notched his first goal as a Friar after buring a
Cody Monds feed into the slot.
Guillaume Richard also earned an assist on the play.
- The Badgers struck 2:05 into the third period on Corson Ceulemans goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
- Mathieu De St. Phalle tied the game at 15:55 off a scramble in the Providence crease.
- The Friars killed off the lone Wisconsin power play of the night at 16:22 after Richard and Dominick Mersch were both called for roughing and Richard was given an extra minor for unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Neither team scored in overtime as the Badgers held a 5-1 shot advantage in the extra session.
- In the shootout,
Parker Ford and Brock Caufield each scored in the first round. Neither team would score again until Zach Urdahl's winner in the sixth round.
- Stauber made 37 saves and was named the Most Outstanding Goaltender of the tournament.
