BOSTON, Mass. – Garrett Devine scored his first-career goal for the Friars but it wasn't enough as No. 16 Northeastern downed the No. 13 Providence College men's hockey team on Saturday night (Dec. 4) at Matthews Arena.

-Northeastern's Gunnarwolfe Fontaine got the Friars again with a late first period goal as he beat Stauber through the five-hole with 52.7 seconds left.
- The Friars dominated the pace in the second period, outshooting the Huskies by a 16-3 margin but the hosts capitalized off a turnover and took a 2-0 lead off the stick of Matt Demelis with 9:28 to go in the period.
-Providence finally broke through and it was junior
Garrett Devine with his first-career goal after putting home a rebound from
Brett Berard with 7:26 remaining in the second period.
Nick Poisson earned the secondary assist on the play.
-The Friars couldn't notch the equalizer as Northeastern's Jack Hughes scored on an odd-man rush with 2:35 remaining and added an empty-net goal with 11 seconds left to seal the contest.
-The Friars outshot the Huskies, 35-19 and out-attempted them 67-30. Northeastern blocked 19 shots on the night.

Parker Ford won 17-of-22 faceoffs on Saturday.
