Sabou Gueye Lands On BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll For Seventh Time

Gueye averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a 2-0 week for the Friars.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College graduate student Sabou Gueye (Dakar, Senegal) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 16. It marked her seventh appearance on the league's honor roll this season.
Gueye paced the Friars with 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. She also added 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game while shooting 50-percent from the field (13-26) and 91-percent from the foul line (10-11). She tallied 19 points, eight boards, two assists and two blocks against Butler on Feb. 11. She closed the week with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists at Georgetown. She scored 11 of her 17 points in a pivotal second half to rally the Friars from a seven-point halftime deficit.
Gueye helped guide the Friars to back-to-back BIG EAST wins for the first time this season and have won three-straight BIG EAST games overall heading into Wednesday's match-up this week against DePaul on Feb. 18 in Providence, R.I.
For the season, Gueye is averaging 15.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game. She is shooting 50-percent from the field (172-344) and 79-percent from the charity stripe (64-81).
