PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's track teams competed at the Brown Invitational in Providence, R.I. on Saturday, Feb. 21.

The Friar women had four strong performances in the 300 meters. Sophomore
Chloe Higgins (Morristown, N.J.) led the group as she placed first overall in 40.06. Also, recording a strong result in the 300 meters was sophomore
Keira Kelly (Scotch Plains, N.J) who finished second in a personal best time of 40.15. Senior Jillian Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.) finished fourth (41.36), junior
Maggie Kemper (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) placed fifth (41.92) and senior
Elena Cabral (Somerset, Mass.) sixth (42.79).
Senior
Lexi Brent (York, Maine) ran the 500m in 1:20.25 and finished in second place. Her teammate junior
Claire Brean (Beverly, Mass.) placed third (1:21.05) in the 500.
Competing in the 60m hurdles, senior
Charlotte Cousins (Madbury, N.H.) finished fourth in the prelims (9.16) and also placed fourth in the finals with a time of 9.35. Freshmen
Ella Chandaria (Franklin, Mass.) and
Morgan Blout (Stoneham, Mass.) also both reached finals in the 60m hurdles. Each runner ran a personal best time as Chandaria was fifth (9.52) and Blout was seventh (9.86).
Cousins also reached the finals in of the 60 meters and placed fifth (8.11).
Senior
Emily DiSarno (Westfield, N.J.) finished fourth in the mile (5:19.73).
On the men's side, sophomore Tom Breen (Providence, R.I.) competed in the 500 meters. Breen placed first overall in a time of 1:04.90. He was followed by junior
Owen Comiskey (Sherborn, Mass.) (second, 1:05.85) and freshman
Matt McCabe (Marshfield, Mass.) (third, 1:06.13).
In the 300 meters, sophomore
Tucker Anglemyer (Winnetka, Ill.) led the Friars with a first place finish in a personal best time of 36.28. Freshman
Eli Wood (South Kingstown, R.I.) finished second (36.89), senior
Will Rainey (San Jose, Calif.) was fifth (38.41) and senior
Nico Fanuele (Wilmington, Mass.) was sixth in a personal best time of 39.10.
Sophomore
Ryan Welch (Wyckoff, N.J.) paced the Friars in the 1,000 meters as he was third in a personal best time of 2:30.94. Freshman Matt Denardis (North Haven, Conn.) (fourth, 2:31.13), sophomore
Liam O'Neill (Natick, Mass.) (fifth, 2:31.38), junior Nicholas Cassarino (Durham, Conn) (sixth, 2:32.03) and sophomore
Adam Wedlake (Westford, Mass.) (seventh, 2:32.68) also ran the 1,000.
Freshman
Jeb Hillary (Grand Rapid, Mich.) competed in the 3000 meters and came in third in a time of 8:44.25.
The Friar track teams will return to action at the Saucony Battle for Boston on Feb. 22 in Boston, Mass.
