PROVIDENCE R.I. – Providence College middle blocker
Aubrey Easterwood (Dallas, Texas) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Sep. 14. The freshman has been named on the weekly honor in two consecutive weekends, and is the first Friar since 2022 to be awarded Defensive Player Of The Week.Â
Easterwood was dominant at the net, leading the team in both block assists (15.0) and blocks per set (1.67). She is also the current BIG EAST leader in average blocks per set (1.52). Easterwood was named the Most Valuable Player in the Friar Classic.Â
