Sara DeCosta Named First Team All-American

Providence, R.I. -- It was announced on March 23, that Providence College junior Sara DeCosta (Warwick, R.I.) was named to the 2000 American Women's College Hockey Alliance All-American team. This marks the second time DeCosta has earned All-American honors, claiming second team honors after the 1998-99 season.

The Friar goaltender led the nation with a .946 save percentage, while recording a 1.50 goals against average and 17-10-3 record. DeCosta was also named Heaton/ECAC goaltender of the week a league leading five times.

DeCosta is a Toll Gate High graduate and is the daughter of Frank and Nancy DeCosta.
