PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College sophomore Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) has earned United States Cross Country Coaches Association 1999 Men's NCAA Division 1 All-Academic Cross Country Team honors. Also, the Providence College men's cross country squad was one of 50 teams to receive 1999 All-Academic Team accolades. The PC men's squad had a team GPA of 3.00.
Reilly, who has a 3.277 cumulative GPA, was one of PC's top runner this season. He scored in all four cross country races he ran in 1999, including the BIG EAST Championship and the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. At the BIG EAST Championship, he placed 13th and earned All-BIG EAST honors. In his top race of the season, Reilly placed seventh overall and was PC's third finisher at the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championship in the Boston, Mass.
The Providence men's cross country team had another successful season in 1999. The team finished fourth at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship, finished second at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship and placed 19th at the NCAA Championship.
