PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked 10th in the FinishLynx Division I Women's Cross Country Poll. Providence, which was ranked as high as No. 5 this season, received 269 points and returned to the top-10 after being ranked 12th in the previous poll.
Brigham Young (387 points) held on to the No. 1 position as it received 11 of the 13 first-place votes, while Stanford (379 points) moved to No. 2. Arizona State (356 points), Michigan State (347 points) and Notre Dame (331 points) round out the top five.
The Friars have not competed since September 27, when they finished fourth of 26 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. Junior Kimberly Smith (Auckland, New Zealand) finished first overall to lead PC.
The Friars return to action on Friday, October 17 at the Penn State Invitational.
