Men's Cross Country Ranked 17th in National Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team climbed to No. 17 in the latest MONDO Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released on Tuesday, November 18.

The Friars qualified for the NCAA Championship by finishing second at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Saturday, November 15 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Junior Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) led the way for the Friars as he finished third in a time of 30:00. Classmate Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) also placed in the top 10, finishing eighth (30:26).

PC earned 216 points and moved four spots to No. 17 in this week's poll. Stanford (479 points) received 15 first-place votes to maintain the No. 1 position. Wisconsin (462 points), Colorado (444 points), Iona (420 points) and Michigan (415 points) round out the top five.

Providence will compete at the NCAA Championship on Monday, November 24 in Waterloo, Iowa. The race will begin at noon EST.
